Circo is inspired by industrial production of porcelain plates. This is a process of shaping circular forms, in a quick and inexpensive way, by using the tools of traditional ceramic factories. The silhouette allows for a multi-purpose use of serving foods. The plates are stacked upon each other on a flat rim and are supposed to have thicker walls. The inside is glazed and the outside is left unglazed and polished with a silky surface. The goal was to develop a tableware item to suit modern usage and also be very efficient in the production and afterlife of an object of utility.
