Animal Garden

Animals, that we equate to natural living, are coexisting in the planned space we call garden. This photo series raises questions of nature versus nurture and brings the cultural component of how we as humans see and create our environment. The pictures, shot in medium format, were taken at the Lainzer Tiergarten, which is a wildlife reserve in the 13th district of Vienna. Originally a hunting ground used by the emperor Ferdinand I of Austria and since 1919 open to the public.
